Okay, okay, okay. So I know it’s been a number of months since I last posted a blog. For those who check the site and wonder what’s going on — Yes, I’m still alive — it’s just summertime, so there’s always lots going on.
Isn’t it amazing how some people live their lives for summer vacation, waiting and even counting the days until summer vacation arrives. Then of course, vacation comes, we find ourselves so busy we don’t have time to do anything because we’re running all over the place. Well, I decided to do things a little differently this year. I decided to make sure I made time for my boys. Our oldest is now 19, and our youngest is 14, with a middle son coming in at 16. I’m beginning to realize time spent with the boys might be harder as they get older. As a result, we intentionally made time for the boys, doing things with the boys.
Last night our youngest and I went to a Rochester Red Wings baseball game. The Wings won, and we also got a “J-Mac” bobblehead. All in all, it was fun to just hang together. It’s important to hang with family when we can. Life moves so fast sometimes we can suddenly find ourselves wondering what happened to family connections. Don’t let that happen, make time to spend time with family. You’ll be better for it.
My advice to anyone reading this blog today — if you haven’t spent time with your family in a while, step away from the computer, turn the screen off, and go spend time with your family. You won’t regret it.
