"Dr. Rus doesn't put himself into a box. Yes, he's an ordained minister. Evangelical at that. But he's not closed minded (as are some in the religious community). This open mindedness makes him an excellent newsman. I've found Dr. Rus to be an asset when I was at CNN Radio and I find him an asset now as I bring him in to talk to my worldwide audience on Paltalk.com."

Step Away From Your Cell Phone

A new study, or is it an old study. It’s really hard to tell because most of these things seem to cycle around and around and around. This time there’s a new/old study which says cell phone use might be hazardous to your health. Dr. Ronald B. Herberman, the head of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, is warning his faculty and staff to limit their use of mobile phones. Of course his warning flies in the face of studies that have shown there’s no definitive link between cell phone use and contracting brain cancer.

In issuing his warning, Dr. Heberman states, “At the heart of my concern is that we shouldn’t wait for a definitive study to come out, but err on the side of being safe rather than sorry.” Some scientists have warned about the effects of electromagnetic radiation on the brain since cell phones first hit the market. They stick to the claims even though it’s never been much of a concern among brain specialists.

The conclusion of this year’s University of Utah analysis on studies of brain tumor patients and electromagnetic radiation was; “We found no overall increased risk of brain tumors among cellular phone users.” But, Herberman is sticking to his guns on this one. He said parents should be concerned and advised them to limit their children’s use of cell phones to emergencies since their brains are still developing. Herberman went on to say that adults should keep their cell phones as far away from their head as possible.

Well Dr. Herberman, that just goes to prove how far out of touch you are with the use of cell phones. For kids, most of them use their cell phones to either text one another, or send pictures back and forth. When it comes to adults, most adults have decided those stupid blue tooth earpieces are a fashion statement and that’s all they use. Of course lets not forget the fact that about a year ago scientists were telling us the bee population was dying off because of cell phone use. The next thing you know Al Gore will tell us Global Warming is the result of cell phone use.

Come on folks, is this all these scientists can come up with? If they want to really address an issue let’s have some studies on accidents, and fatal accidents, connected with cell phone use and texting while driving. Now there’s a study that would be worthwhile. But no, instead these scientists hanging out in their world of government funding academia get paid to issue statements about things that have been proven wrong.

Just my two cents,
Dr. Rus

It’s like the egg, it’s good, then it’s bad then good again…
