Worst Minute Of The Work Week
Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Minutes, Hours, Days Passing By

My high school drama teacher would be proud. I still remember that poem from so long ago! I don’t remember much more, but at least I remember how it started. It was just one of those exercises to teach us rhyme.
But how appropriate when looking at life.
No matter what, the clock continues to tick tock. When I was younger, it seemed the days were numberless which were ahead of me. But, as I get older, I’ve discovered a couple things. First off, my Dad was right! Time does seem to pass faster the older you get. I’ve also discovered the once numberless days that lay ahead, may actually have a number, other than infinity.
As the clock ticks down every day, there are times most people dread. And, if a new British survey of 3,000 people is any indication, you may want to leave your office a little early for lunch today!
According to the survey, the worst minute of the week
comes every Tuesday!
Countdown To Tuesday 11:45am
A study conducted by the health supplement Bimuno found that Tuesday at 11:45am is the most stressful time of the work week. Researchers reached that conclusion by claiming people tend not to work hard on Mondays. Then by Tuesday, they discover how much work they have to do for the week, and that’s when they stress out the most – at 11:45am to be exact.
Here’s a look at some other results from the survey;
- 53% say they don’t work very hard on Mondays.
- 10% say they avoid work on Mondays by checking Facebook to look at photos of what their friends did over the weekend.
- Nearly 20% stay late at work on Tuesdays to make up for how little they accomplished the day before.
- More than 50% feel stressed at work on a regular basis.
- 23% blame too much work for their stress at work.
- 12% blame their boss for their stress at work.
- 9% blame their co-workers for their stress at work.
- 20% feel stress is just part of their job.
There you have it! The stress makers and the stress breakers for the work environment. But, most importantly, you’ve been warned about the dreaded 11:45am Tuesday time. If I were you, I’d head out early for lunch today. I think that would be a major stress-reliever.
Just my two cents,
Dr. Rus
