The Humorous Side of the News

Newlyweds Call It Quits Right After The I Do
The honeymoon really did end before it began for a Polish couple living in Germany. A 50-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman ended their marriage immediately after tying the knot Wednesday. Shortly after saying their “I dos,” the couple started arguing and the groom tried to cut his bride’s hair with a knife. The woman responded by calling police, who issued a restraining order against the man. After all was said and done, the man ended up spending his wedding night in a homeless shelter.

Prisoner-Slash-Groom On The Run
Manuel Victor Guzman got cold feet, which he then used to escape from jail. The 29-year-old man was given a four-hour pass from California’s Merced County jail on Wednesday so he could get married. But instead, he used the opportunity to run away! When Guzman failed to return to jail, authorities called his fiancée, who said he never showed up to tie the knot.

Mother Doesn’t Make The Grade
A secretary at Huntingdon Area High School in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania is accused of illegally changing her daughter’s grades in a school computer in order to improve the girl’s class ranking. Caroline McNeal allegedly used passwords from at least three co-workers to change dozens of grades between May, 2006 and July 2007. McNeal, whose daughter, Brittany, graduated in 2008, is also accused of lowering scores for two other students.
