First Practice & Paul Tracey
First practice is complete and if you ask me, it’s a little surprising for who’s on top. Ryan Briscoe, Dario Franchitti and Marco Andretti. The man who seems to own this track for wins, Scott Dixon, was 8th fastest with IRL favorite Danica Patrick at 11th fastest. Of course it’s the first time the teams were on the track for the weekend so there will be lots of work in the garage area in prep for the second practice and qualifying.
I also spent some time with Paul Tracey of the #15 Geico car. This is the first time Paul has been on the track and he said he did find some challenges along the way. On a humorous note, when asked if he got any pointers from other drivers he said they all pretty much said – “You’ll figure it out.” – As for a good weekend, Paul said a win would be nice, but realistically, a top 6 will make him happy.
