The Humorous Side of News
“Tossed Bouquet Causes Plane Crash”
Two people in Italy were hurt after a wedding when a bridal bouquet thrown out of an ultralight plane got stuck in the aircraft’s rear rotor, causing the plane to crash. The pilot suffered minor injuries, while the passenger who tossed the flowers had several broken bones. Neither the bride nor the groom were onboard the plane. Instead, it was someone else from the wedding party who tossed the bouquet while the bride and groom watched from the ground.
“Man Busted For DWS — Driving While Showering”
Police in China pulled over a man for taking a shower while driving. Thinking the man’s truck had a mechanical leak after seeing water dripping from it, police decided to pull him over. Imagine their surprise when they saw the driver lathered up from a shower he was taking using a sprinkler system set up over his head. His wife, who was sitting in the passenger seat, held up a plastic sheet between them so she would stay dry while he got Zestfully clean.
“Woman Tweets During Bank Robbery”
A woman named Annemarie Dooling tweeted while she was in a New York City bank being held up yesterday. The trackball on her Blackberry was broken and she couldn’t call for help, so the 26-year-old Dooling decided to keep her followers posted about what was going on by updating her Twitter feed, even after police had been summoned. She and other customers were kept in the bank for several hours, long after the bandit escaped with 500 dollars. When all was said and tweeted, she’d picked up 200 followers, increasing her total to more than 21 hundred people.
