News Oddities

“Robber Reminds Victim To Stay Safe”
A thief in Fargo, Dakota makes sure to give as well as take.  After someone broke into Mark Neary’s car last week and took his license and credit cards, Neary found the bandit gave him some free advice in a note reminding him to lock his doors.  The robber also paid Neary a compliment, praising him for his, quote, “amazing taste” in music.  What’s even more amazing is the fact the car wasn’t stolen, since Neary had left the keys in the ignition.

“Teen Burns Car Because He Dislikes It”
Police in Freeport, New York arrested 18-year-old Anthony Rosario last week and charged him with arson after he set his car on fire, because he didn’t like it.  The incident took place earlier this month. Rosario was tracked down for the crime after surveillance footage captured him sending the vehicle up in flames, even though it was parked just three three feet from his apartment. Police say the car was no clucker either – it was a 1992 BMW.

“Cupcake Makes The Guinness Grade”
A 151-pound cupcake in Minneapolis has officially been recognized by Guinness as the world’s largest.  The dessert stands one foot tall and two feet wide.  With 15 pounds of fudge filling and another 60 pounds of yellow icing, it’s guaranteed to satisfy just about any sweet tooth.  The cake, made by Cakes.com, went on display Saturday at the Mall of America.  If you’re thinking of heading over in hopes of scoring some leftovers, bad news.  Most of the cupcake is just cake and no icing, it will ultimately be donated to a pig farm as feed.
