Off-Beat News
“Dad Leaves Boy In Truck To Drink In Strip Club”
Police say an Indianapolis man was charged with public intoxication and child neglect after he left his five-year-old son in a tractor-trailer while he went drinking at a strip club. The man was arrested after he called police to report his truck stolen. Police say the truck hadn’t been stolen — the suspect was simply too drunk to remember where he had parked. The boy was found inside the cab around 1 am, watching cartoons.
“Police Use Backhoe To Locate Drugs”
Druggies who live in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana can no longer rely on flushing their stash down the toilet to avoid arrest when cops are pounding on their door. Authorities say when officers raided a man’s home on suspicion of drug activity and met him coming out of a bathroom, they immediately called in a backhoe to dig up the septic system. Deputies found needles and a bag of meth in the sewage and booked the 49-year-old resident on drug possession.
“Prison Inmates Escape And Return”
The Tennessee Department of Corrections reports that two inmates are facing escape and burglary charges after they broke free from a minimum security prison, stole cigarettes from a convenience store — and then returned to jail. Authorities say the two inmates escaped through a window in their cell and crawled under a fence at the Turney Center Annex corrections facility, only to return a short time later the same way, carrying stolen cigarettes.
