But, in the midst of the bad economy, there is some good news – the Tooth Fairy does not seem affected by the bad economy.

In a recent Delta Dental survey of 1,500 parents around the United States, the following results were reported.
- 86% say the economy has not had an effect on how much money they leave their children on behalf of the Tooth Fairy
- 84% say the Tooth Fairy visits their home
- Children received an average of $2 per tooth
- Payouts from the Tooth Fairy ranged from $2.13, up from $1.88 last year. That’s an increase of 13%
- Children will earn over $40 from the Tooth Fairy from losing all 20 of their baby teeth
- 90% of parents say their children brush their teeth at night
- 80% of parents say their children brush their teeth in the morning
- 87% of parents claim their children go to the dentist every six months
