Senator Fran “The Nanny” Drescher!?

Oh Get Out Of Here…I’m Just The Nanny!

New York Magazine Says “The Nanny” Wants Hillary Clinton’s Senate Seat!

Just when you thought politics in New York State couldn’t get any sillier, Fran Drescher announces she wants the Senate seat currently held by Hillary Clinton. New York State holds the record for most missed on-time budgets. It holds the record for the highest taxes in the States. New York State suffered the scandal of Governor Eliot Spitzer who liked to play with high-priced-hookers across state lines. As a result of that scandal, New York State ended up with what I refer to as the accidental Governor, David Paterson. Yesterday I blogged about the silliness of Caroline Kennedy being announced as a possible replacement for Senator Clinton.

And now, just when you thought it was safe to look at New York State politics again…

Fran Drescher says SHE wants to replace Senator Hillary Clinton!

Senator Caroline Kennedy?

What’s In A Name

Caroline Kennedy as a Senator?

Apparently the Democrats don’t care about experience. Instead they’re looking for a name. What’s in a name you ask? When you’re name happens to be Kennedy, apparently that’s all you need on your resume. This makes no sense at all. The big weekend news for New York State — Caroline Kennedy is interested in the Senate seat that will open up when Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton becomes Secretary of State.

Talk about left field! That’s exactly where this one comes from.

When Did Golisano Get Elected?

Responsible New York?

Usually when he’s referred to in the news, he’s called Rochester Billionaire Tom Golisano. He’s also the founder of Paychex and his name appears on buildings all over the Rochester, New York area. Big bucks has a way of having people name buildings after you. Of course when the person pretty much says the only way you’ll get the money is if you put my name on it, many organizations bow to the almighty dollar. Usually buildings are named after influential people after they die. It’s called a legacy and a remembrance of someone. But, such is not the case with the many Golisano named buildings in the area. It appears the man is buying a legacy.

But this could simply be the tip of the iceberg…

An Open Letter To The Conservative Movement

You’ve Got Mail!

Day Two In A President-Elect Obama World

Yesterday my prescription for the nation was Everyone Take A Deep Breathe. As part of the prescription, I encouraged people to breath in and breath out deeply. Nice cleansing type breathes which would help not only to clear the air, but also clear your head. As we find ourselves in day two of a President-Elect Obama world, the sun once again set last night, and rose again this morning. All remains well in the universe. Well, at least it remains well in our universe. If you’re President-Elect Obama you woke up this morning to the news that Japan is mad at you. That’s right folks, in day two of his now forming administration, it’s being reported that Japan is upset with the new President-Elect already.

News reports out today say the Japanese Olympic Committee is worried Tokyo may lose its bid for the 2016 Olympic Games to Chicago.

I received a number of emails on yesterdays post asking “What’s next?” Probably one of the best comments came from Ken Davis who wrote;

Now that I have taken a breath, I will speak. Before last night I was armed with a vote with which I could fight for what I felt was right. I wasn’t swallowing the conspiracy stuff. But I was seriously concerned about Obama’s stand on many of the issues. I used up my ammo last night. Today, what do I use to fight for what I believe to be right ? I feel a little flat footed and vulnerable. My gun is empty!

Opps, I need more oxygen!!!!

Do I just sit back and pray? Do I retreat from the political fray to live out my faith in a smaller more personal world? Or do I search for five small stones in a creek bed and continue to do battle?

Not bitter, not defeated, just a little out of breath and confused as to where to go from here.

Well Ken, I’m glad you asked that question, and thanks for commenting on the post! In response to you, and others who asked similar questions, I hope this Open Letter To The Conservative Movement will help.

Everyone Take A Deep Breathe

***Please Note: 7:00pm
While going through the comic section of my Google Reader I came across a great Ziggy cartoon. The cartoon fit the theme of this post, so I decided to make an editors addition to the post tonight. If this is the second time you’ve come to this post, and you’ve already read it once, you can simply scroll down to the bottom of the post and check out the Ziggy cartoon. Believe me, it’s worth the look!

My Prescription For America…Take A Deep Breathe

I jokingly posted a morning greeting on my Twitter account today saying…
Good Morning Comrades!

I was amazed at the number of quick replies I received telling me to “shut up,” and “don’t say things like that because we don’t need it today!” “My oh my,” I thought to myself, but people seem a slight bit touchy today. So, I say it again, here’s my advice for the entire nation today - no matter what side of the aisle you find yourself on…

Take a deep breathe!

Believe it or not, but the world has not ended. The sun set, and the sun has indeed risen once again. The bottom line is this, we live in the United States of America, and throughout history there have been many ups and downs. Some good, some bad, but life always goes on. If you think the world has ended, look around you right now. Do you have one or two things to be thankful for? I’m sure you do.

No matter what you think, this is an historic day as the United States of America elected the first ever African American to the Office of President.

Creative Exit Polling

Exit Poll Question - Who Did You Vote For?

Pollster are just as active after the vote, as they are during the vote!

They always want to know the same thing — Who did you vote for? Whatever happened to the whole idea of who you voted for as being a personal thing. At one time it was a right to simply say “It’s none of your business who I voted for.” As a matter of fact, when I was growing up, I remember it was almost taboo to even ask someone who they voted for. It was like asking a woman her age. Some things were just better left unsaid, and unasked.

My oh my how the times have changed!

These days it seems everyone wants to know how you voted. The phone rings, the questions come pouring in, the people with clipboards seem to abound. At every corner, everyone wants to know where you placed the X on the ballot. Well, guess what, “It’s none of your business who I voted for.” It’s also my right, my democratic freedom right, to look you straight in the eye and say “I do not have to tell you how I voted.” But here’s another amazing aspect of the polling nation we find ourselves living in. If I tell a pollster I’m not going to tell them who I voted for, many times the next thing out of their mouth is…

“Oh, okay, I’ll put you down as an undecided then.”

No, I didn’t say I was undecided. I said it’s none of your business how I voted.

Media Vote Suppression Tactics

Election Day Has Finally Arrived!

Today is Tuesday, November 4.

Not only is this Election Day, but Laura Bush is also celebrating her birthday today. As the current First Lady celebrates her 62nd birthday, she’s also thinking about packing up for her move out of the White House. Who will move in next? We won’t truly know that until later tonight. Of course if you’ve been listening to a lot of the talking head news casters and other political pundits, some might believe the election is already over and a winner declared.

Don’t Believe The Talking Heads! The Media Is Trying To Suppress The Vote!

A Product of His Environment

Election Day is November 4!

Do you know who you will vote for?

Many are still undecided when it comes to pulling that lever on election day. Who will they vote for? Never before have we seen candidates spend the amount of money on advertising during their run for office as we have seen this time around. Never before have we seen the number of polls conducted and reported on as we have seen during this election cycle. Never before have we seen a media so biased as we have seen this time around.

But in the end, it will all be decided on November 4 as people head into the polling booth, pull the curtain, and pull the lever as they cast their vote. In the privacy of the polling booth, no pollster will pose a question, leading or otherwise. The individual casting the vote, does not need to worry anyone will know how the voted. Why? Because in the end, casting a vote is a personal action and many do not tell the truth when asked publicly whom they plan to vote for.

Of course during the entire Presidential campaign season we’ve heard many points of view concerning Senator McCain and Senator Obama. Sometimes the noise has been so loud, it’s hard to figure out where the truth is. Of course lay on top of that the fact that it’s hard to find unbiased coverage concerning the candidates, and this has been an even more confusing time. But here’s something we must remember when it comes to anyone running for office, and especially when considering all the information emerging concerning Senator Obama…

He is a product of his environment.

Programming To Snooze By

ABC ‘Pushing Daisies’ While Others Broadcast Political Ad

If you can’t sleep tonight, just tune into the Obama Infomercial…
It’s sure to be a snoozer!

Senator Barack Obama, who thinks he knows how to manage money, has decided to throw a bunch of money around once again on senseless TV advertising. However, it appears ABC has decided a couple things when it comes to taking the money;

  1. They don’t need the money so they’re not airing the ad.
  2. Their Wednesday night line up is already hurting and they didn’t want to hurt it anymore by airing a 30 minute Senator Obama infomercial.

If you don’t want to snooze to Obama tonight, ABC will snooze you with their already struggling Wednesday line up of an hour long Pushing Daisies, followed by episodes of Private Practice and Dirty, Sexy Money.

Who’s Your Fav Movie Prez?

We are on the home stretch in what seems like a never-ending-presidential campaign. In what’s been like a bad dream at times, could it be all the political silliness will finally come to an end? We can only hope! Of course with just one week to go until election day, the candidates our blazing the campaign trail all in hopes of grabbing a few last minute votes come November 4.

Who will be the winner?

The self-appointed media gods have already named Senator Obama as the next President of the United States. Apparently he’s taking the media cue rather seriously as he’s already started construction of his massive stage where he plans to make his acceptance speech. Talk about putting the cart before the horse! That’s just silly. Of course on the other side of the aisle, Senator McCain keeps pointing out that the polls are very close, and really too hard to call. At one rally over the weekend the Senator proclaimed, “Call me crazy, but I like to determine the winner of these things the old-fashioned way — by letting the voters decide on Election Day.”

Personally, I’m very tired of all the political craziness. While I know we can’t ignore it, there simply comes a point when we go into political overload. With that in mind, as we find ourselves wondering who the next President will be, lets take a few minutes to discuss movie Presidents.

Through the years there have been many movie Presidents. But, if you could chose one to be a real life President, who would you pick?
