"Dr. Rus doesn't put himself into a box. Yes, he's an ordained minister. Evangelical at that. But he's not closed minded (as are some in the religious community). This open mindedness makes him an excellent newsman. I've found Dr. Rus to be an asset when I was at CNN Radio and I find him an asset now as I bring him in to talk to my worldwide audience on Paltalk.com."

Escape From The Deep
Alex Kershaw, the best-selling author of The Bedford Boys and The Few has a brand new book out, just in time for Memorial Day. It’s entitled Escape From The Deep: The Epic Story of a Legendary Submarine and Her Courageous Crew.

This is an incredible true story book based on the final voyage of the U.S. Navy submarine the Tang. The book chronicles the account of 87 volunteer crew members heading home on the submarine on October 25, 1944. But, instead of arriving safely home, the last torpedo fired toward a Japanese ship, bomeranged and sent the Tang crashing to the ocean floor, 180 feet under water. Half the crew died immediately, and only 9 men made it back to the surface without dying of the bends or a burst lung. Then, once at the surface, all 9 were picked up by the Japanese’s and tortured in a special camp called Ofuria.

I’ve interviewed Alex on my Live Line talk show before, and he’s always a great guest. Today was no exception, and this book is incredible. If you’re looking for something great to read during this Memorial Day weekend, pick up Escape From The Deep by visiting Alex’s Website.

Believe me, you won’t be sorry and you will learn some incredible lessons about a group of very brave World War Two soldiers.

The USA Today gave an great review of the book too! You can check out that review here.

Just my two cents,
Dr. Rus
